Citrus Tung Oil

Our blend of Tung Oil & Citrus Terpentine is also pure without any other additive. The blend has the same finished performance as 100% Tung Oil but will soak into your workpiece more easily and will be ready for recoating after a shorter time, (see below).

Tung Oil dries hard, accentuates grain, is waterproof and with good preparation finishes with a semi-gloss. Food safe.

Work piece timber should be either sharp hand plane finished or 400 to 600 grit sandpaper. Pour a small amount of oil onto a small clean rag. Wipe it on the work piece. Reapply dry spots.

Be sure to wipe off excess oil with same rag after 15 minutes or so.
Recoat after around 2 hours.
Apply 3 to 5 coats. Only a small amount of oil is required to recoat.
Keep rag in a glass jar with a screw lid to keep oil/rag reusable and safe.

Do not leave used tung oil rags rolled up, ignition can occur under the right circumstances.
